Ballet, Tap, Modern Combo (Level 1)

This is a great combination class which incorporates learning expression, musicality and technique using imagery, story-telling and props to excite and inspire them, giving our budding dancers self-confidence and a real sense of achievement and enjoyment!

Your little dancer will love learning 3 contrasting and complementary styles of dance, building their confidence and skills:

  • 15 minutes tap dance – they love those noisy shoes and will develop rhythm, balance and co-ordination.
  • 15 minutes ballet – such a wonderful base for all other styles of dance, building core strength, poise, grace, posture, balance and co-ordination.
  • 15 minutes modern dance – we explore different movement dynamics, expressive qualities, practise being more flexible and learn how to travel freely when dancing.

Ballet, Tap, Modern Combo (Level 2)

Here we incorporate developing increasing expression, musicality and technique using imagery, story-telling and props to excite and inspire them. This is a very exciting stage where your little one will make huge progress as they delight in the realisation that they can now manage some of their steps without a teacher!

Your little dancer will love learning 3 contrasting and complementary styles of dance, creating a solid foundation for their dance journey as we start to develop their ability to learn more independently.

  • 15 minutes tap dance – they love those noisy shoes and will develop rhythm, balance and co-ordination with an increasing vocabulary.
  • 30 minutes ballet – a wonderful base for all other styles of dance, developing greater core strength, poise, grace, posture, balance and co-ordination with increased complexity.
  • 15 minutes modern dance – we explore different movement dynamics, expressive qualities, practise being more flexible and learn how to travel freely when dancing as well as short routines.

Ballet, Tap & Modern Dance (Level 3)

Classical ballet is universally recognised as a wonderful base for all other styles of dance, building core strength, poise, grace, posture, balance and co-ordination as well as helping instill resilience and self-discipline.

Tap  and Modern Dance complement ballet beautifully as they allow the dancer to become very versatile in the way they are able to move their bodies and respond to a huge variety of music.

Tap explores more complex rhythms, and develops expression through the tone created by the different beats and taps as well as the fluidity and style in the upper body.

Modern explores a huge variety of dynamics, movement qualities and styles, and creates the building blocks for jazz and contemporary dance later on.

As in all our classes, we incorporate learning technique, musicality and expression in a fun and imaginative way that excites and inspires our students. We try to encourage them to think for themselves and understand how all the different movements and styles they are learning are inter-related. Our aim is to create happy, self-motivated, dancers with a sense of pride in themselves!

Studying all 3 genres at this age creates a beautiful and well-rounded dancer. Once we get to this level there’s so much more to learn and so we split into two classes:

  1. Primary Ballet The dancers now begin to learn more complex ballet skills in a more independent manner.
  2. Primary Tap and Grade 1 Modern  Again we are now teaching our dancers to be more independent whilst learning more complex tap and modern skills.
